“Crew” is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language heist comedy directed by Rajesh A Krishnan, starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon as air hostesses, with Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in supporting roles. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Digvijay Purohit under Balaji Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network, the film was announced in November 2022 and filmed from March 2023 to February 2024. It was released theatrically on March 29, 2024, to positive reviews and became a commercial success, grossing over ₹156 crore (US$20 million) globally, making it the third highest-grossing Hindi film and the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of the year.
The plot revolves around Geeta Sethi, Jasmine Kohli, and Divya Rana, flight attendants with the struggling Kohinoor Airlines. Facing months without pay, Geeta supports her husband Arun’s failing food business and her unemployed brother, Jasmine, raised by her grandfather after her parents’ divorce, lives a flashy lifestyle, and Divya, a trained pilot forced into the role of a flight attendant, is burdened with repaying her education loan. The death of a senior flight attendant leads the trio into a gold smuggling operation masterminded by Mr. Mittal, the HR Head of Kohinoor Airlines. Their financial situations quickly improve, but a customs tip-off and subsequent detention make them reconsider their choices.
The situation worsens when Kohinoor Airlines goes bankrupt, leaving all employees unpaid. Discovering that the airline owner Vijay Walia has used the smuggling operation to secure his own luxury in Al Burj, Geeta, Jasmine, and Divya feel remorseful. Determined to rectify the situation, they decide to retrieve the smuggled gold and use it to pay the airline employees their overdue salaries, turning their clandestine operation into a mission of redemption.
