“Ganapath: A Hero is Born” is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language dystopian action film directed by Vikas Bahl and produced in collaboration with Jackky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh. The film stars Tiger Shroff in a dual role, alongside Kriti Sanon, Amitabh Bachchan, Elli AvrRam, and Rahman. Announced in November 2020, the film underwent an extensive pre-production phase before commencing principal photography in November 2021. Filming concluded in February 2023, with scenes shot in the United Kingdom, Ladakh, and Mumbai. Despite the anticipation, “Ganapath” released on October 20, 2023, to negative reviews and became a box office bomb.

Set in the year 2070, the film depicts a world divided by a massive wall after a catastrophic war. The elite reside in Silver City, ruled by the enigmatic Dalini, while the impoverished struggle in the ruins outside, dominated by Silver City’s control. Guddu, who lives in Silver City and works for John, Dalini’s henchman, becomes embroiled in a conflict after being caught with John’s girlfriend, Dimple. Buried alive, Guddu miraculously survives and is directed by Kaizad to seek out Shiva, a combat trainer among the poor. Guddu learns of his true identity as Ganapath, the prophesied savior of the poor. Under Shiva’s and Jassi’s guidance, Guddu trains to become a formidable fighter, secretly aligning with their cause while pretending loyalty to John and Dalini.

In a calculated move, Guddu persuades John and Dalini’s associates to bet on his opponent in a final match and convinces the poor to wager their savings. Intending to lose, Guddu plans to ruin John and Dalini. However, realizing they have bet against him, Guddu stages a dramatic comeback, winning the match and causing their financial ruin. He reveals his actions on live television, inspiring the poor to challenge the rich. Guddu also discloses that Shiva is his biological father and confronts Dalini, who is revealed to be an AI doppelgänger of Guddu. The film ends with Guddu challenging Dalini, hinting at a sequel, “Ganapath 2: Rise of the Hero.”
