Drive, a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action-heist film, was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Dharma Productions. The film features Sushant Singh Rajput, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vikramjeet Virk, Sapna Pabbi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Boman Irani. The plot centers on a manhunt for an elusive criminal known as the ‘King,’ who has stolen 300 kilograms of gold. An undercover agent joins a street racing gang in pursuit of the King. Originally slated for a theatrical release on 7 September 2018, the film’s release date was delayed multiple times before it premiered on Netflix on 1 November 2019.
The story begins with Vibha Singh, a corrupt bureaucrat in the Indian Government, who hides embezzled money in a secret basement in the Rashtrapati Bhavan. When informed by Kirit Ojha that the Prime Minister needs her help to catch the King, Singh collaborates with Irfan Ali and Hamid Ibrahim to investigate a street racing gang, led by Tara Loha. An enigmatic man named Samar infiltrates the gang, earning their trust through various exploits. As the authorities decipher coded messages, they discover the location of the King’s loot and chase Tara and her gang, only to be thwarted by Samar, who reveals himself to be the King. The gang then plans an audacious heist at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
On the night of the heist, the plan initially goes smoothly, with the gang stealing Singh’s hidden money. However, during their escape, Tara betrays Samar, revealing herself as the true King. Samar is captured by the police, led by Irfan and Hamid. Two months later, Tara, under a new identity, visits the Bank of London to store her diamonds, only to encounter Samar again, disguised as the vault manager. Irfan, revealed to be Samar’s boss, joins them, and Tara realizes she has been outmaneuvered once more.
