Plot

In October 1982, four years after Finney Blake killed the Grabber, his sister Gwen begins having disturbing dreams involving a series of murders that took place at Alpine Lake Camp in 1957. In one of these dreams, she receives a phone call from her late mother, Hope, who had experienced similar dreams decades earlier.

Determined to uncover the truth, Gwen convinces Finney and Ernesto, the brother of the Grabber’s victim Robin Arellano, to travel to Alpine Lake Camp—a Christian youth camp where Hope once worked. Upon arrival, a blizzard traps them with a small group including camp supervisor Armando, his niece Mustang, and employees Kenneth and Barbara.

That night, Finney receives a call from the camp’s disconnected payphone—this time from the Grabber himself, speaking from beyond the grave and vowing revenge. When Gwen is later attacked in a dream, the group realizes that to weaken the Grabber’s power, they must locate the remains of his victims buried beneath Lake Maru.

As their search progresses, Gwen learns that Armando, Hope, and the Grabber were once connected at the camp. During another dream confrontation, the Grabber reveals that he murdered Hope, staging her death as a suicide. Gwen fights back in both the dream world and reality with Finney and Ernesto’s help.

Terrence, Gwen and Finney’s father, arrives during the storm, and the family reconciles as they face their shared trauma. Together with the others, they unearth the boys’ remains beneath the frozen lake, recite a Bible verse, and destroy the Grabber’s power. The film concludes with Gwen receiving one final call from her mother on the camp’s dead payphone, reassuring her that she is proud of her.
